Who We Are and What We Do

The Piracy Is Not Cool (PINC) initiative aims to educate everyday internet users, like you, about the importance of supporting the entertainment industries we all enjoy. For our customers, we monitor illegal channels of content distribution and inform the infringers about legal alternatives for obtaining the content.

WHY IT MATTERS

The last two decades have seen the internet become a wonderful addition to our lives. The ability to share ideas and information with ease has completely changed the way the world works. With all this innovation, new challenges have also appeared. These can be seen through the impact of services like Uber, the struggles of the newspaper business and, perhaps most prominently, in online piracy of entertainment media.

Many industries have had to adapt and the entertainment world is no exception. Led by innovators like Netflix and Spotify, all of us now have affordable ways to access our favourite content digitally. With these new platforms, we can easily give back to creators that make us laugh, captivate our attention, and take us to worlds outside our own – all from the comfort of our home. Paying a fair price is the only way to ensure that we continue to get the quality of media we have today.

On our web page, we offer information on why it matters and what the alternatives are.

PIRACY'S IMPACT

Sharing is caring, but only when no one’s rights and liberties are at stake!

Online piracy has been a threat to the entertainment industry for decades.

With software and video games today, there are many tools out there that prevent piracy. For movies and music, protecting copyrighted materials has been much more difficult. Even with a variety of low-priced and free subscription offers, there is still a surprising amount of interest in pirated content.

While governments try to find appropriate punitive measures for digital media theft, we see the best path forward as one of education. There are real world repercussions of online piracy for the creative industry and we feel that with the appropriate level of awareness, people will choose legal alternatives.
